My name is Merav. My passion for being a Doula began after I gave birth to my second daughter.

In my first delivery, I was young. I did not know enough about giving birth or preparing the body and soul for this tremendous process. I was unprepared when I entered the delivery room! And so, the delivery began when my water broke, and this was followed by induced labor, sedation, epidural anesthesia, and 18 hours of labor.

When I was about to give birth to my second daughter, I already knew that I want to understand everything and be better prepared. I knew that I deserve to experience natural childbirth without fear. I wished to connect to Mother Earth and give birth just as many women had in the olden days.

My husband and I took a childbirth class that reclaimed my faith in my body and myself. I realized that I can give birth according to my wishes. Another gem that helped me through was a doula that I chose, who met me before the delivery, and accompanied me during my childbirth. She was attentive to all my needs, and of course, helped me endure the moments of crisis and achieve the birth I wanted so much. I underwent natural childbirth when I was over 40, and it only took 6 hours!

This was the first time that a feeling crept into my heart: what I want most in life is to be a doula! On my third pregnancy, it was already crystal clear to me that I will have a doula in my birth team! I began this birth more prepared and mature. I was self-confident and had faith in my body and the team around me.

I gave birth for the third time when I was way over 40 years old. After experiencing the work of two incredible professional doulas, I realized I wanted to help as many women as possible to have positive and empowering experiences in the delivery room.

In 2017, I trained as a doula at Neri Choma’s Birth Coach Method program in California.

Now, as a doula, I use my expertise as a Drama Therapist and a Birth Coach, and I also use my knowledge as a woman, a mother, and one who gave birth at an older age.
